Harko City
The Harkonnen city described in House Atreides through its terraces, rare gardens, and guarded spaceport.
The environment revealed by a garden
A tended lawn on one of the city’s terraces and its rare balcony parks show that plants are not a naturally occurring abundance. Details of fertilization and maintenance draw attention to greenery as a space preserved through labor and permission.
A threshold to the outside world
The spaceport where the Baron lands near midnight is well guarded. This scene shows that the urban experience consists of more than industry and construction: entry and movement are also controlled.
Distinguishing sources
These city details come from the expanded narrative of House Atreides. They can be compared with the Gammu scenes in Heretics of Dune, but it would be wrong to place the settings of two eras unchanged on the same city plan.
