Titans and cymeks
Former rulers who keep human brains alive in mechanical bodies.
Overview
The Titans are human-born cymeks who established their rule before the machine order. With the rise of Omnius, they become servants of their own system. The boundary between human and machine is already blurred in their physical existence.
Place in the universe
Agamemnon’s view of Vorian as his genetic son and potential heir reveals a cymek’s desire to continue his line despite his contempt for humanity. This family relationship is one of the layers the expanded universe adds to Atreides history.
